Miranda Bird

I became a coach because I derive immense satisfaction from working with people one-to-one and becoming a thinking partner to help them design better futures. The people I work with have incredibly varied stories, which are endlessly fascinating to me.

So how did I get here? Variety has definitely been the spice of my life and career ! I have held senior positions in the advertising industry. I also have a long history with the cultural sector, including a stint running a campaign encouraging investment in culture to strengthen communities. I have been a trustee of several organisations over the last 20 years.

Early on, I was all about strategy, but as time has gone by, I’ve become more interested in people and more curious about what makes them grow. Increasingly, I’m involved in learning programmes in many different ways: in my day job, I lead organisational and people development, and I am also a trustee for a two learning charities. I began my coaching journey in 2016.

I love where I live and embrace all that nature can give us. I can go through periods of obsessive sea swimming and am probably even more obsessive about reading. Music is a massive part of my life, including singing in local choirs. I devour films and visual art. Quakerism is my heartbeat.
